School starts back tomorrow! It makes me sad! I really enjoy having my kids home. This Christmas break we had SO many teenagers here. I think at one point there were 11 cars in my driveway. Only 3 of them were ours! Ethan had a friend overnight but they didn't fall asleep until 7:30 that morning. After we took Will home Ethan said he needed to go back to bed. And he DID! He woke up at 3 pm that afternoon. When he woke up he was so excited that he stayed up ALL night but then it hit him that he slept away the whole day. I remember doing that when I was younger.
Christmas was great! It was a little weird this year. Christmas eve has always been with my parents since I got married. Its the only thing Hillary and Ethan has remembered. It was a little strange this year because my mom remarried and when she did this she forgot that she had 2 grandchildren and a daughter. Its been the hardest on Ethan. I don't understand how a parent could just do that to their children and grandchildren. I don't think I will truly understand how one day someone came into her life and we were forgotten. As an adult its hurts but my children are SEVERELY hurt by this. Especially Ethan...she is the only grandparent he has and she just tossed him aside. I hope one day she will see what she did. I have the 2 most AMAZING children and she is missing out on some WONDERFUL moments. Sorry... I went off there! We just stayed home on Christmas eve and played board games and hung out. It was really fun. I think Ethan is getting at the age where he isn't so annoying to Hillary and more grown up. I got Ethan off to bed with only A TAD bit of drama. He gets so worked up over the whole Santa thing. Finally he went to sleep! It was funny because Hillary was the one running down the stairs to wake up her little brother. Instead of a free for all we took turns and it was really fun for the kids to both see what each other were getting. The funniest moment was one Hillary opened a note from Santa saying some make up haven't arrived yet and would be coming shortly. Ethan asked what the note said and Hillary very grown up told her little brother that Santa sent her a DUI! We laughed so hard that we cried and Ethan just looked at all of us like we were insane!! We spent the day playing and it was just a fun Christmas! Hillary was disappointed with my MOIST Christmas ham. Every year I burn it or dry it out and Hillary would always say...its okay I LOVE DRY ham so it was a joke every year!
We have had lots of basketball games. Hillary has gotten in a little bit almost every Varsity game. Its only because they are up by 30 points but she does play all of JV. One game they were winning by 4- so he let the swingers play the 2nd half. Hillary had a HUGE write up in my local paper with her picture stating she had 7 pts, 5 assists and 4 steals! She is hoping to letter FINALLY but who knows. Softball season she will definitely but she wants that jacket NOW!

Well 2009 is here! I have so many resolutions to write here. But I think I will take one a day so I have lots to blog about. I have been slacking and I really want to write. I don't think anyone is even reading but I can look back and know that I have fulfilled something this year. So resolution #1....
New Beginnings: I am not going to let the things that I can't change get to me. While it hurts I can't control other people. I can only control myself. If my mother has chosen to cut me and my children out of her life then that is her choice. But I refuse to feel like I am a little girl with a broken heart and broken promises. I am going to stand up for myself and my children. If that is the path she chose that is her problem and no longer mine. I am going to surround myself with family that wants to know me and my children. My sister and BIL have made a point to love Ethan and Hillary more and Dan's sister and BIL have also adopted them. While their own grandmother has done this there are lots of family around us that love them and would never do such a shitty thing!
